You thrive in the highly energetic atmosphere of event marketing and love creating calm out of chaos. You’re an accomplished event professional and an excellent communicator with a positive, client service-oriented attitude. You’re permanently attached to your smartphone, happiest when juggling the myriad details involved in multiple events, whether that’s negotiating contracts, researching far-flung venues, or soothing frantic clients. An extremely organized, detail-oriented self-starter, your positive attitude and calm personality inspires everyone that everything will be perfect when the curtain goes up. Previous marketing/event experience required. Strong writing and/or design skills would be warmly welcomed. It’s assumed that you will be computer- and internet-savvy. You are a committed freelancer and will, for the most part, work remotely at your own location.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the coordination of various events
  • Setting up and maintaining event budgets
  • Preparing emails and communications
  • Providing administrative aid for various projects
  • Completing and submitting tradeshow general contractor order forms
  • Liaison and negotiations with show organizers, and vendors
  • Create and maintain workback schedules
  • Project and client management
  • Coordinate speakers and client attendees
  • Manage registrations
  • Coordinate graphics creation and production
  • Develop pre-event notes and briefing sessions


Required Skills:

  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing, related field or equivalent event experience
  • Proven experience managing/leading a wide range of event types, such as hospitality events, roadshows, tradeshows, customer/partner advisory councils, conferences and destination management
  • Previous experience managing webinars and live streaming events an asset
  • Event marketing experience an asset
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with ease
  • Highly motivated self-starter who works well under limited supervision
  • Flexible, reliable and self-motivated
  • Ability to problem-solve and work independently
  • Technically savvy with computer, internet, research, Microsoft Office, and smart phone/tablet skills
